How to Install a Wall Mounted Paper Towel Holder
Installing a paper towel holder on your wall is easy. It takes about 10 minutes and just a few common tools. (OK, the 10 minutes doesn’t include the time it takes to actually FIND the tools!)
Supplies Needed
- Paper towel holder
- Level
- Hammer
- Pencil
- Screws and anchors (usually included with paper towel holder)
- Screwdriver
- Level
- Drill
How to Install a Wall Mount Paper Towel Holder
1. Position the holder: Find the perfect place to put your wall mounted paper towel holder. Usually, a great place is nearby the counter where you prepare your food. That way it’ll be convenient when you reach for a paper towel while cutting meats or vegetables. Try to install your paper towel holder on the nearest wall.
Other good places are near the sink (especially if you use paper towels for drying your hands) and near the refrigerator or drink-pouring area. Don’t forget – you can always use more than one paper towel holder if it’s convenient!
Warning: Be careful that the paper towels are not too close to the oven or stove so that there’s less risk of fire.
2. Using your level and penci, draw a straight line on the wall about the same length as your holder. This step is optional if you prefer to just “eyeball it”.
3. Place the wall mount paper towel holder on the line. Mark the places where the screw holes will need to be.
4. Drill holes on the walls for the anchors. Make the holes about the same size as the anchors. If in doubt, make the holes smaller – you can always make them bigger later on!
If you don’t have a drill, you can use a screwdriver to make starter holes.
5. Now push the anchors into the holes you’ve made in the wall. Give them a little tap with the the hammer if necessary.
6. Hold the paper towel holder up to the wall with the screwholes in the holder matching the anchors in the wall. Screw the screws in until they’re tight.
7. Pop in your paper towels, and you’re all done! Take the rest of the day off – you’ve earned it!
Installing a Wall Mount Paper Towel Holder on Tile Backsplashes
It’s a bit trickier to add a paper towel holder to a tile backsplash. You may want to hire a professional or install an under cabinet paper towel holder instead.
